時間就是金錢。精神病學家及作家史葛柏格說：「直至你珍惜自已，否則你不會珍惜你的時間。除非你珍惜你的時間，否則你會一事無成。」

在《生與死之間要作的事情》（What to Do Between Birth and Death）一書，查理斯史賓奴（Charles Spezzano）說，人們不是以金錢換取事物，他們是以時間換取事物。如果你跟自己說，要用五年時間儲錢買一間渡假屋；這就等如說，這間渡假屋耗掉你五年的歲月，相等於你十二分一的人生。史賓奴說，「運用時間」一詞並不是隱喻或抽象用語，這是真實人生的運作。

與其為了金錢可以換取東西而花盡腦筋，不如想想如何以時間去換取東西吧。試想想，什麼東西值得你花上一生時間？朝著這個方向去作，這或許會改變你管理時間的方法。

"The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all." – Ecclesiastes 9:11

Time is valuable. Psychiatrist and author M. Scott Peck said, "Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it."In What to Do Between Birth and Death, Charles Spezzano says that people don't pay for things with money; they pay for them with time. If you say to yourself, In five years, I'll have put enough away to buy that vacation house, then what you are really saying is that the house will cost you five years—one-twelfth of your adult life. "The phrase spending your time is not a metaphor," said Spezzano. "It's how life works."Instead of thinking about what you do and what you buy in terms of money, think about them in terms of time. Think about it. What is worth spending your life on? Seeing your work in that light just may change the way you manage your time.
